HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY COLORES

J Balvin Colores Album

Five years ago, in the midst of a global pandemic, we filled the world with Colores. Ten tracks, ten colors—each one reflecting an emotion, a story, a feeling that still resonates with people today. Amarillo, Azul, Rojo, Morado, Negro, Blanco—these songs have made us dance through our hardest moments and our happiest celebrations.

Throughout history, we’ve learned that colors go beyond just waves of light interpreted by the brain. In our story, we’ve seen how a color can represent an idea, a thought, a sensation—something we connect with through our senses and our lives. Red doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone—nor does green, or pink. Interpretations vary, and music becomes a powerful complement to these interpretations.

For this project, we teamed up with two global creative minds: Takashi Murakami and Collin Tilley. The iconic flowers, the vibrant color palette, and the visual and artistic direction were shaped with Murakami, whose signature style is deeply embedded in this album. Tilley, on the other hand, directed all the music videos—blending visual effects, camera work, and storytelling to bring to life a universe we call: Colores.

Over the years, this album continues to surprise us—thanks to our fans. The recent viral success of Azul on social media has amazed us and gotten us dancing again. Rojo holds a special place in our hearts and in our shows—every time we perform it, we get chills from the power and magic it brings, creating a shared emotional experience with the audience.

Five years later, we’re still enjoying these songs as if it were the very first time we heard them. Thank you all for making Colores what it still is today.

Are you ready to experience Colores on the Back To The Rayo tour? Because we definitely are.
