A NEW ERA: THE ERA OF 'MIXTEIP'
Mixteip is a collection of tracks that had been tucked away on Jose's — J Balvin's — iPod. While parts of Bruz Wein had already surfaced, and Río and KLK led the way as early releases, they were just the beginning. Eight more songs, including the full version of Bruz Wein, were still waiting to be heard.
That's how Mixteip was born — a project that brings together the songs Jose had on repeat, and now wants to share with his people. A vibrant mix of genres, styles, and emotions, featuring collaborations with legends like Gilberto Santa Rosa, Stormzy, Justin Quiles, and Lenny Tavárez.
With Mixteip, we continue breaking boundaries — in music, in culture, in genres. As we said: here you'll find pure reggaeton energy with Zun Zun, alongside our brothers Lenny Tavárez and J Quiles (watch the official video here). There's love and emotion with Rio and PQBL. There's future and power with UUU ft. Stormzy. And there's legacy and legend with Misterio, a beautiful collaboration with the maestro himself, El Caballero de la Salsa, Gilberto Santa Rosa — a track we recorded two years ago. We're honored and thrilled to have him as part of this project.
These 10 tracks, paired with a visual experience, take us back to the way we used to curate music — when we'd jump from one genre to another without hesitation, depending on our mood. That was our personal mixtape, our soundtrack.
